Dogs have always held a special place in my heart — especially those who struggle with anxiety, fear, or sensitivity and need extra patience, presence, and understanding.
My journey began in Florida when I left my corporate career to follow what I knew I was meant to do: care for dogs in a way that feels calm, steady, and relationship based. I started walking and pet sitting, but everything shifted when I was referred to a family whose dog struggled with resource guarding. As the family prepared for overseas travel, I worked closely alongside a trainer to ensure their dog felt safe, supported, and understood.
During that time, something became very clear — dogs responded to my energy. The trainer noticed it. The family felt it. And most importantly, the dog felt it.
From there, I began working with more anxious and sensitive dogs and realized my calling wasn’t simply providing reliable care — it was building trust over time. Dogs remember who makes them feel safe. They bond with the people who move at their pace, respect their boundaries, and offer consistent, grounded support.
That belief is what inspired me to create Calm Canines.
My goal is not just to care for your dog during a visit or a trip. It’s to become a steady, trusted presence in their life, someone they recognize, feel safe with, and can rely on long term. When that bond is built, everything changes. Dogs relax. Families feel at ease. Travel becomes possible without worry.
Calm Canines is rooted in that relationship, the quiet trust that develops over time and makes a lasting difference in a dog’s emotional well-being.

From curious sniffers to full-energy explorers — every walk is an adventure.
Each outing is tailored to your dog’s pace, comfort, and confidence. Whether it’s a peaceful neighborhood stroll or a scenic mountain hike, our decompression walks help release stress, build trust, and nurture calm confidence.

Exercise is more than just burning energy — it’s about balance.
Physical activity helps regulate hormones, relieve stress, and maintain a healthy weight, but it also gives dogs an outlet for natural instincts like sniffing, exploring, and problem-solving. Without enough movement, dogs can become bored, anxious, or reactive.
At Calm Canines, our walks and hikes are designed to fit your dog’s energy level — from curious sniffers to high-energy adventurers — so they can move, release, and relax in a healthy way.
Mental stimulation is exercise for the brain.
It includes scent games, puzzle feeders, enrichment toys, and even slow, mindful sniff walks. Engaging a dog’s mind helps reduce stress, prevent destructive habits, and increase confidence — especially for anxious or reactive dogs.
Our Enrichment Visits are designed to provide this kind of mental and emotional engagement, leaving your dog calm, content, and fulfilled.
We specialize in gentle, consent-based care.
That means we move at your dog’s pace, using calm energy, positive reinforcement, and body language awareness to build trust. Over time, this approach helps reduce reactivity, build confidence, and create a more relaxed, happy companion.
Dogs thrive on routine and predictability. During visits or overnight care, we follow your dog’s schedule closely — including feeding, walks, medication, and bedtime habits — to create a sense of safety and calm while you’re away.
